Although the Great Patriotic War ended 70 years ago, and there are very few eyewitnesses of those events, crafts for May 9 are part of patriotic education and one of the ways to preserve the significance of this day in people's memory and convey to younger generations. There is not much time left before the anniversary of the Great Victory, of course, schools and kindergartens are preparing for this holiday. Which crafts for May 9 can you prepare?

Children's crafts for May 9

We associate Victory Day with the St. George ribbon, red carnations, the Eternal Flame, old photos, the dove of peace. Of course, postcards are made for this holiday to congratulate veterans, those who are still alive. But not only them, we all congratulate each other on this day, because it cannot be overestimated and there is nothing to compare with in a series of holidays. Children's crafts for May 9 for kindergarten or the youngest students can be made in the form of panels, postcards, layouts. For voluminous postcards and not only for them, you can use carnations made from paper napkins. Prepare napkins, a stapler, glue and a cardboard circle template of a suitable size. Fold the napkin taken out of the pack in half and in half again, you will get a square the size of a quarter of the original.

Sew it with a stapler in the middle. Then cut out a circle from it, as far as the dimensions of the square allow. Next, we collect the napkin in layers, making a kind of half of a pompom out of it. The collected napkin is slightly straightened until a double flower is obtained. If you have scissors with a serrated edge, then the flower will turn out even more realistic. You can also make cuts from the edge to the center of the flower so that there are separate petals. If the flower is used for applique and is located sideways, then you can take fewer layers, say half, so that it is not so voluminous.

In addition to carnations, you can use origami tulips. The corolla of the flower is made of paper, and as a stem, you can use a cocktail tube or a bamboo stick for sushi wrapped in floral tape, smeared with green plasticine or simply painted green with any paint that is at hand - watercolor, gouache or acrylic. Of course, this is not the only possible color option. On postcards, apple blossoms, which are associated with May and spring, or quilling flowers are used as appliqués.

Very interesting images are obtained using stencils and colored sand or colored grits. First, select a drawing with a few large details and prepare templates from it. Using templates, a sheet of paper is smeared in parts with glue and sand or grits of the corresponding color are applied to the glue. Paper crafts May 9- these are postcards made in the form of collages, applications, drawings. Images for collages can be found and cut from magazines or newspapers, found on the Internet and printed on a printer. Models of old military equipment, three-dimensional compositions in the form of the Eternal Flame or battle models are made from paper.

On many crafts by May 9, a three-dimensional star is used, whether it be postcards or compositions. It can be made from cardboard or aluminum sheet from a used beer can. And if the child can handle cardboard on his own, then you will have to help with metal, because there is a danger of cutting your hands. First, cut out the template from thick cardboard, then transfer the template design to the material. Cut out the star. Take a pen with an empty rod and draw along the fold lines with force. Bend the star along the marked lines. If you are working with metal, then correct the product with pliers. Then the aluminum sprocket needs to be sanded, especially the cut lines are sanded, then degreased. After that, put the stars in a box and paint with spray paint in the desired color.

For application, you can use plasticine or pasta painted with paint. For example, flower petals are very well obtained from pasta - shells. Paper crafts May 9 postcards can be made in the form of a soldier's letter - a triangle. The congratulation can be printed on a piece of paper, then folded into a triangle, and decorated with an appliqué on the outside.

Very often, crafts on the theme of May 9 are models of military equipment: aircraft, tanks, ships or submarines, Katyusha rocket launchers. A variety of techniques and materials can be used. For example, cardboard and a cardboard cylinder from toilet paper are suitable for making an airplane. The finished model can be painted with paints.

An interesting option is an airplane made of clothespins and ice cream sticks. To make it, you will need a clothespin, a few popsicle sticks, a button, and glue or a hot glue gun. Glue is better to take quickly hardening. Instead of ice cream sticks, you can use thin thick cardboard. The aircraft rear parts can be made from a single stick by cutting it in half and rounding off the cut edge. The propeller can be made from a stick or cardboard according to a prepared template. All parts are glued, guided by the photo, and then painted with acrylic paints.

The plane can be made from a beer can and cardboard, or entirely from aluminum from beer cans. In this case, you will need bolts and nuts to connect the parts. We will need: templates for aircraft elements made of cardboard or paper, tin sheets from beer cans, scissors, a tablespoon for aligning and bending tin sheets, double-sided tape, a ruler, bolts with nuts for connecting aircraft elements to each other, pliers.

We cut out tin sheets from beer cans, level them with a tablespoon. We cut out the components of the aircraft according to the template from tin sheets. We glue parts of the fuselage with each other, collect the nose. We assemble the wings of the airplane with the help of bolts and nuts. We attach the stabilizer, landing gear and steering wheel to the fuselage. For the manufacture of the chassis, metal bottle caps were used. We fasten the wings to the body with bolts, attach the bow, and the airplane is ready.

TO May 9 DIY crafts tank models are made of paper, corrugated cardboard, plasticine, matchboxes, in general, from a variety of materials. For example, the procedure for manufacturing a tank from two boxes is given. To make it, you will need black and green colored paper, black corrugated cardboard, two boxes of a suitable size, glue, a plastic stick from lollipop caramel or ear cleaning, a suitable button or plastic bottle cap, glue and scissors. It is not difficult to find a matchbox, and if suddenly you do not have a second box of a suitable size, it is easy to cut and glue it yourself from cardboard. We wrap the boxes with green paper and glue the wrapper. Then we glue the small box onto the large one. We have a tank hull. We cut out strips of corrugated cardboard for caterpillars and stick them on both sides of the body. On black paper, using a suitable template or a ruler with holes, draw circles and cut them out. We glue the circles on the sides of the body - the caterpillars are ready. To make a tank barrel, we wrap a plastic stick several times with green paper and glue it along the cut. We glue the edge of the trunk with a strip of black corrugated cardboard. We insert the barrel into the hole made with an awl or knitting needle, the hole should be of such size that it fits tightly. We glue a button or a cap from a plastic bottle on top of the case - this is a hatch. It remains to glue the asterisk. It can be made from red paper or white and painted. You can also simply draw it with a red felt-tip pen or paint using a template. If you're building a larger tank, an interesting hatch solution is a shampoo bottle cap that flips off the top.

By the same principle, you can make a rocket launcher "Katyusha". The car body is made of two boxes. The wheels are cut out of cardboard, you can also adapt plastic bottle caps. The rockets themselves can be made from paper wrapped several times around a pencil, or you can take sharpened pencil pieces painted with a suitable paint, mounted obliquely using a cardboard stand in the rear of the body.

Another cheap material that is always at hand is used. It is from them that the model of the submarine is made. For the body, two different bottles are used, the size is chosen in such a way that one cut-off top with a neck fits snugly into the other. It is possible to duplicate the connection with glue for reliability. The propeller is cut out of plastic from a bottle, put on the neck and secured with a twisted cork. For cutting used the top of the bottle from the spray - glass cleaner. It is glued to the body. A plastic cap larger than a regular bottle cap is glued to the top of the cabin. The two parts at the back of the boat are also cut out of bottle plastic with a slight allowance. A slit is made in the body with a dummy knife, the part is inserted into the slit and additionally glued along the slit contour. Glue must be chosen thick and quickly hardening, suitable for gluing plastic. The finished model is painted with spray paint in a suitable color. You can apply inscriptions to the case using a stencil and a sponge. If you don't have the right glue, use construction tape.

The element has 2 corners and 2 “pockets”, thanks to which these modules can be assembled into a complex structure. To do this, insert the corners of one part into the “pockets” of the other. For the strength of the fake, the joints are fixed with glue.

Asterisk element

Cut the paper into 1x26 cm strips. Take one strip, loop one end, tighten slightly. Next, with a long “tail”, wrap the workpiece several times so that you get a regular pentagon. Hide the tip under the strip. Now you need to press on each side of the pentagon so as to form the star itself. Of the many such stars, you can lay out any picture with a mosaic, they will greatly decorate the festive fake.

Having created a texture with twisted strips of paper, they can be painted over with a spray gun, for example, with gold paint and decorated with a St. George ribbon. Facing is an easy way to create an original three-dimensional image. You will need corrugated (crepe) paper. Without unrolling the roll, cut off 1 cm from the edge, you will get a long strip that needs to be cut into squares.
